More than 150 international professionals are expected to attend this 9th edition of REMA, including distributors, festival directors, producers, industry organizations, managers, artists, cultural press, content creators, and professional networks.
REMA 2026 will take place from October 22 to 24, 2026, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

The event will feature three days of concerts, workshops, and professional networking opportunities.

WARNING

For the 2026 edition, the call for applications for showcases is focused on artists from Burkina Faso.

Applications featuring traditional music are particularly welcome.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Applications must be submitted by the artist’s professional network using the online application form below. All applications must be submitted via the platform during the specified period.

Please attach the required files and documents in the formats specified on the completed form.

All applications will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of industry professionals.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• The candidate has not performed at REMA in the past two years and must submit a new project;
• The artist must be available during REMA (October 17–22, 2026) and must have a professional support team (production company or manager) ;
• All musical styles (fusion, jazz, contemporary music, traditional and traditional-modern, rap, reggae, rock, and blues) are accepted, and candidates must be the authors of their own repertoire (covers are not accepted);

• We give priority to emerging artists who have already begun to establish themselves in this field, with works created within the last three years.
• Selected candidates agree to participate in a 5-day live creative residency prior to their performances.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS AND FEES

• Artists or groups selected for the REMA showcases receive a stipend for their performance;
• REMA will cover accommodation (from October 16 to 23, only for applicants outside Ouagadougou), meals, and local transportation for the selected artists.
• Selected artists or groups must sign a contract with REMA;
• REMA provides selected artists or groups with all the technical support necessary for their performance;
• REMA will handle all communications related to the promotion of the selected artists or groups, and a media schedule (including radio and TV interviews) will be established;
• The artist’s team must provide the technical specifications required for the performance and also take steps to promote the performance;
• REMA’s media partners, as well as media outlets that naturally cover the REMA, will be in attendance
• Selected artists will have the opportunity to network with industry professionals attending REMA;
