REMA, a must-attend musical event

The 3rd edition of the African Musical Meetings (REMA) took place in Ouagadougou from 22 -24 October. The official opening of this music business event, organised, by the Court of Naaba, took place on October 22 in the presence of Minister of Culture, Arts, and Tourism, Abdoul Karim Sango.

REMA’s goal is to make Ouagadougou a must-visit destination for music. Around 200 participants from Africa and 16 different nationalities took part in the third edition. The theme for this edition was  : “Music, digital and local economies, how to develop appropriate tools? According to the promoter, Noura Mohamed Kaboré, popularly known as Alif Naba, this topic is essential for musicians and entrepreneurs in the music industry with the on-going global digitalisation. The programme also included  seminars, professional training, and concerts with musicians from Burkina Faso and abroad. Some of the professionals present at the meeting include Claudi Siar, Asalfo of the Côte d’Ivoire’s Magic Système, Didier Awadi of Senegal, Cheick Sirima Sissoko of Mali, and many more, alongside Burkinabè Smarty, Habibou Sawadogo, Fleur, Patrice Kabré… “there will be a lot of Burkinabè and worldwide journalists, as well” Alif Naaba said
